If you have not installed OS yet, you may find fdisk.exe (very simple, but strong and reliable DOS program) most appropriate program now
Reply:Have you installed windows on the drive already or not?

If you have try this:

In XP Pro, start control panel, administrative tools, Computer Management. In that window, scroll to the bottom left. Select storage, then select Disk Management. In this section select the drive partition in question and then right click on it. This should give you a menu of choices. One of the choices should be extend this partition. Extend the partition to the desired length.

If you have XP Home edition this option will NOT be available.

If you have Windows 2000 this option is NOT available.

If you have Vista Ultimate the option should be very close to the same set of steps, though I haven't tried this operation in Vista yet.
