Can I delete c:/users/username/AppData/Loca... ?

While trying to clean out the hard drive, I noticed that my "c:/users/username/AppData/Local/temp" folder is filled with an alarmingly large amount of data. Is it safe to delete the contents of the /AppData/temp folder? If not, what programs tend to contribute to its size?

Can I delete c:/users/username/AppData/Loca... ?
Use Disk Cleanup Utility to delete temporary files. That's the best way. I've tried that many times before without any problems
Reply:Yes you can but I don't know how

Is it safe t delete this: C:\WINDOWS\system32\jkhff.dll ?

So I've been getting popups for the last week now. I downloaded Panda AntiVirus and SpyBot search and destroy. It deleted everything and I was fine for about a day or two. Just today I stared getting popups again. I ran Panda Antivirus. It found some stuff and it deleted it. I ran Sy Bot and it found "Virtumonde" with the file path C:\WINDOWS\system32\jkhff.dll. It couldn't delete it.

I ran Panda again and everything was fine. I just have that one file but it duplicates itself when the internet is connected. SpyBOt is abe to delete the duplicates but not the original file.

Can I manually delete C:\WINDOWS\system32\jkhff.dll safely?

Is it safe t delete this: C:\WINDOWS\system32\jkhff.dll ?
Best rule of thumb when you are infected like this is to totally reinstall everything. Make sure your data is backed up, then format the hard drive and then re-install your O/S and all applications. Even if the system acts like it has been throughly cleaned odds are there is a stray bot lurking in the registry waiting to pounce.
Reply:shut off your windows restore so your problem wont restore.now run you scan and reboot. Allso you can turn your system restore back on

Good luck

BTW chris h is way off the target Thumbs down for Chris
Reply:Look here.
Reply:It may be in use. Try deleting it in safe-mode by pressing F8 during boot.

or

Try Online scanner GarbageClean http://www.GarbageClean.com it does pretty good cleaning.
Reply:NOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!its a system file its infected you can quarinetine it ...and eventullly you will have to reformatt you computer!!...quarintine it then back up you data and then reformatt...happend to me before..
Reply:virtumonde is a nasty one good luck
Reply:Yes because I don't have that on my computer and it works fine.
Reply:"Your PC is infected. The file called JKHFF.DLL is considered unsafe..."

What's the best way to A/C delete my truck???

I would like to "A/C delete" my 2003 Chevy S10. Summit sells the alternate pulley that I need to fill the spot where the compressor sits but i was wondering about how I would go about evacuating the fluid??? Is there a way I can do it myself or do i need to take it somewhere? If I had to take it somewhwere, would I then be able to drive it home with the compressor empty to then remove it and replace it with the new pulley? I'm in the process of replacing my stock crank driven fan with an electric one and also replacing some pulleys with "underdrive" pulleys. So, I know the benefits and additional horsepower/torque I will gain from doing all of this ESPECIALLY the option of doing away with the drag placed on the engine while turning that A/C pulley.

What's the best way to A/C delete my truck???
you will have to take to shop to have the refrigerant evac from system,there is a big fine from EPA if you do it in your drive might get reported from neighbors????should be OK to drive home as long as its not to far ,comp might freeze up and break belt,and you have right idea to remove a/c getting parts from summit.should work out ok...
Reply:Take it to a shop, and get the system evacuated. Then drive it home. Don't need to worry about the compressor locking up, just as long as you don't turn on the AC, or the defroster...
Reply:You will have to take it somewhere to have the refrigerant removed (legally and safely). You don't have to worry about the compressor locking up from this. Even tho the freon transports the oil throughout the system, some oil will naturally settle and remain in the compressor. If this was not the case, I'd be replacing a whole lot more compressors at work, as most folks don't have it checked until the system is empty, or nearly empty. Not too many have their a/c checked "just because".

The clutch fan to electric fan will have more of an impact than the a/c delete, btw.

EDIT - Toad, below, has no clue...it is illegal to vent ANY refrigerant to the atmosphere!!!

"Can I vent HFC-134a refrigerant?

It is illegal under Section 608 of the Clean Air Act to knowingly vent substitute refrigerants during any service, maintenance, repair or disposal of an appliance."

EDIT 2 - Toad, please stop with the misinformation...you can't vent any hfc/pfc/cfc used as a refrigerant, including R134a in automobiles.

"Based on these considerations, the following refrigerants are subject to the venting prohibition, and EPA is proposing to cover them under the regulations:

* hydrofluorocarbons (HFCs)

* perfluorocarbons (PFCs)

EPA is proposing to exempt the following refrigerants from the venting prohibition:

* ammonia that is used in absorption systems or in commercial or industrial process refrigeration systems

* hydrocarbons that are used in industrial process refrigeration systems for processing hydrocarbons

* chlorine that is used in industrial process refrigeration systems for processing chlorine or chlorine compounds

* CO2, nitrogen, and water"

Nothing else can be vented intentionally to the atmosphere...nothing.

"Permitted Releases

As is the case for CFC and HCFC refrigerants, only four types of releases of HFCs and PFCs are permitted under the prohibition:

1. "De minimis" quantities of refrigerant released in the course of making good faith attempts to recapture and recycle or safely dispose of refrigerant.

2. Refrigerants emitted in the course of normal operation of air-conditioning and refrigeration equipment such as from mechanical purging and leaks.

3. Releases of HFCs and PFCs that are not used as refrigerants (note that heat transfer fluids are considered refrigerants).

4. Small releases of refrigerant that result from purging hoses or from connecting or disconnecting hoses to charge or service appliances."

#2 takes into consideration any refrigerant that purges from recovery equipment during the excess oil purge...normal operation does not mean you can take a screwdriver to the schrader valves and vent it. ;)

R-134a, while having less effect on ozone depletion, is still a deadly, toxic gas that is proven to contribute to global warming...which is why California and the EU will ban it's sale shortly...and why it's always been illegal to intentionally vent it to the atmosphere...start reading the below links.

Not out of control, just have a need to provide proper answers...as I re-read your claims, 2 other things were noticed...#1 is that "catching it in a drain pan" is impossible...r134a is a liquid only under pressure...once it's vented, it almost immediately turns into a gas, as it has a boiling point of about -15F...#2 is the statement of not turning on the a/c to keep the compressor from getting damaged while empty...also false, as any automotive a/c system has various pressure and limit switches...no r134a = no system pressure = you can't turn on the a/c unless bypassing the low pressure cutoff switch.

Come on, no information is better than misinformation.
Reply:just get a nitrous kit or a v8 if you want more power..lol
Reply:Personally, I would not delete the A/C. You may decide you want to sell it at a later date and that will kill your resale value. Besides, there is virtually no drag on the engine with A/C turned off. Just take off the belt and turn the pulley by hand. You'll find that it spins as freely as an idler pulley (unless it's going out). But definately DO NOT vent it to atmosphere. That is a big no-no even though it is "environmentally friendly". But I'll agree with the others that the fan clutch-to-electric conversion will free up the most power. I personally have performed this on my own vehicle, and it makes a world of difference.
Reply:actualy the drag on the pully is minimal (you could gain 1hp) the fan is a hp killer (15-25hp) the olnly benefit from removing the ac would be weight savings but unless your s10 is pulling the front tires off the ground at takeoff (don't think it is with the stock motor) i dont think you will gain enough hp to be worth your time. ps if you dont want the ac drag on the engine just turn off the ac. you would get a better hp gain from a electric water pump.
