How do I delete my Windows XP c:\my backup?

I recently rebooted my hard drive from factory settings, i.e. F2 or F10 (can't remember) to restore my crashed computer. In the process, it created a backup of my hard drive that is now found in a folder in my C drive as "My Backup." Unfortunately, it hogs an incredible amount of space but I can't seem to do a simple delete of the file. I get the error:

"cannot delete epilogue.ps: access is denied"

I'd appreciate any answers and my recovered hard drive space! Thanks in advance.

Reply:What are you going to do in the future? Just reformat again?

If you ever lose a .dll or whatever, you're going to be searching a lot on the internet because you won't be able to use chkdsk.
Reply:Go to safe mode by restarting the machine and pressing F8. then try deleting the directory.

If that doesn't work go to DOS mode using a Boot CD. If u don't have one you can create one from here

http://www.bootdisk.com/bootdisk.htm

After booting into dos mode try deleting the directory. now you should be able to delete that.
