How can I delete my c drive?

I want to delete everything on my hard drive and then re-install my system disk. How do i do that? I have tried removing the programs, but I have run into the problem on some of them that will not allow me to just delete them. What do I do?

How can I delete my c drive?
I have two solutions for you:

****Try this first****

Boot to safe mode by pressing F8 at windows startup and try and delete/uninstall the programs. Safe mode should work but if it doesn't....

****Complete Reinstall****

First and foremost

BACKUP ANYTHING YOU WANT TO SAVE

Then either insert the original disks that came with your computer (usually labeled system restore) or your windows XP/Vista disk and boot with it. Normally, if one of these disks is in the drive when then computer is booting, it will boot with that instead, but sometimes this has to be changed in the BIOS (look for a message like "press %26lt;del%26gt; to enter setup" and then look for boot order, placing CD-ROM or DVD-ROM at the top of the list)

Then, either choose, clean install, or format and install. This will wipe your FAT (file allocation table) and make the computer brand new

A side note, if you back up your c:\windows\inf folder, you can save all the drivers you have so you don't have to go hunting for them later.
Reply:Get to a DOS prompt and enter the line

C:/ format C:
Reply:Insert disk and preform a "Clean" install. It will format your drive for you.
