This file keeps coming up and opening a dumb webpage, and I can't find it to delete it.
How do I?
How do I delete: C:/users/kenneth/appdata/local...
Try booting in safemode then deleting it there. If that doesnt work, see where it is starting up, best don by doing to the RUN command and typing MSCONFG, under the startup tab you might find it.
Reply:Seems like a Virus. Do you have a antivirus software installed which can actually remove the virus
Reply:Open Explorer, select Tools and Folder Options. On the View tab, check Show System Files and Folders; select Show Hidden Files and Folders; uncheck Hide Protected %26amp; Operating System Files (also uncheck Hide extensions for Known Filetypes).
Now browse to the path where the file is and you should be able to delete it.
It sounds as if this may be spyware or adware. You would be wise to install and run Spybot S%26amp;D and Adaware (both free), since you may well have other things lurking. If you haven't got antivirus software, Grisoft's AVG Free is very good. (NOTE: Use the links below. They are the links to the genuine software - there are many people who try to imitate them by climbing on the search engine bandwagon!)
What you describe is probably NOT a virus but it doesn't hurt to have all the protection available! It is necessary to have antispyware and anti-adware protection too because, although antivirus software may include some of those nasties in its checking, many are not strictly speaking 'viruses', and, while they may slow down your machine and pop up unwanted ads, they do not actually do any real damage.
Reply:You need to make it so you can see hidden files, right click on the folder where it should be and then go to folder option, then view type i think, and check on view hidden files.
